34 weeks and a little scare!

Well, I am now 34 weeks as of today and according to Baby Center, Drayton should be about 4 3/4 pounds and 18 in. long.   I believe the 18 in. long since he simultaneously shoves up under my ribs and kicks down on my leg sending shooting pains.  The tiredness is definitely coming back.  I've gone back to about a nap a day.

So, for my little scare, I've had Braxton Hicks contractions every now and then for about 10 weeks.  Well, last night, they decided to kick it into high gear.  I was having one about every 5 minutes.  So after staying calm for about 6 in a row, I started to freak out from the 7th through the 15th.  I looked up anything I could about them and found that if you have more than 4 in an hour, go to the hospital.  Well, considering I'd had about 13 in an hour, I started to panic.  We were fairly close to going to the hospital when my doctor called me back and told me not to worry and just go to sleep.  I liked that option better, so that's what we did!  They continued through the night, but today have been much better today.

We thought for a moment we might have an extra special Christmas present!  We're glad we just got the snow instead.  Merry Christmas!

Not a good sign

Well, I would say it is not a good sign that already I am going forever without updating the blog and i don't even have a kid yet.  I will try to do better!  We had Thanksgiving in Rogersville and Nashville which was so much fun and so great to get to see family.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.  In Nashville, my cousins threw me a family shower which was so nice.  When we got back, Linda's sweet friend, Allene, gave us a wonderful shower with all of the Airport Freeway crew.  (That is Tim and Linda's church)  And then we had our Pine Tree shower at church!  So we have been so blessed and are almost ready for little Drayton!

We then went to Duncan, Oklahoma to have Christmas with Ty's mom's side of the family.  I did take a few pictures from there. There was a wonderful array of gifts for Dirty Santa.

The Seat cousins minus Cole and Tiffany, and Wes and Carrie

Grandmom and Jack with the plaque Ty made for them.

And now for the belly pics.  I will say, these are not the most flattering and it's ok if you agree with me.  It makes my head look tiny compared to my mammoth stomach.  I was a little appalled when I looked at the pictures after Ty took them (especially the first).  Also, if you want to see bare belly pics, you can email  me and I will send some.  Those are pretty funny as well, I just don't want to post my bare belly on the web.  So, without further ado, here are the 33 1/2 week belly pics.

I will have an appointment next Monday and then after that, it will be every week!  That is crazy that it is just about 6 weeks away.  Nuts!

Well, Have a Merry Christmas!  We are in Grapevine for Christmas with Ty's family and then will be home until Drayton comes!

Goodbye to birthing class

We had our final labor and delivery class Monday.  I know Ty is sad that now on Monday nights, instead of going and talking about breastfeeding, contractions, and crowning, he will have to watch Monday night football.  I'm actually glad as well that it is over.  It was good info, but mostly because I learned what the standard hospital procedures were and that my OBGYN is one of the few willing to go against them.

Speaking of OBGYN, we had our last monthly checkup yesterday.  Ty got to go with me and meet the Dr.  (I switched Doctors as of last month, so that's why Ty is just now getting to meet him.) Everything still looked good.  At my request, though, he is changing my due date to 2/4/10 based on my calculations of when Drayton actually came into this world. I wanted it changed b/c I don't want to be induced if at all possible and this will give him an "extra" week to cook if he needs it.  Hopefully he won't need it, but you never know.  So we will start going every 3 weeks, and then soon it will be 2!!! Sorry for the lack of pictures.  I will post my (now) 29 week pictures soon!

His name shall be. . .

We have tried to keep his name a secret for several reasons, but it is getting to the point to where we really like saying his name and don't want to have to hide it anymore!!  So without further ado, his name is:

Drayton Scott Ford

Drayton is Ty's middle name and a family name from his Dad's side and Scott is my Dad's name and also Ty's Grandmother's maiden name.  So, there.  I just couldn't last 3 more months!!!

Our first shower!

We were given a wonderful shower this past Sunday at CDR by the ladies at CDR and the churches at Gilmer, Winnsboro, and Holly Lake.  It was so exciting to open up all the wonderful gifts and imagine our little boy wearing them or playing with them! It was just so sweet and we were really grateful for it.

The wonderful hostesses!  Thanks you so much!

Yes, Ty is sporting a sweet man purse made by Jewel.  Now he won't have to carry a sissy baby bag.

28 week belly!  My posture is definitely suffering.

Hooray for finished projects! and 27 weeks

This past weekend Ty's parents, Tim and Linda, came for a quick visit.  Of course Tim and Ty got to work on a serious project that we figured out has now spanned about a year.  They finally got to finish our built in entertainment center!  I believe Ty calls it "living the dream".  We still need to paint it, but the handiwork is all finished.  It is nice to have a master carpenter in the family!  So here are the before and after pictures with the handymen.

It started as a bookcase and a dream and became. . .

a work of art!!

Seriously though, they did a great job and it looks so good!  Thanks Tim!

Meanwhile, Linda and I heckled them from the couch, saying amusing things under our breath when things like this happened.

We also got to have fun doing baby things for the nursery.  That's always fun.  And I can finally envision what the nursery will eventually look like thanks to a new bedspread that will match the baby bedding and curtains!  So thank you Linda!  We are glad they live close enough to be able to make visits like that.  And I have a feeling they will get a little more frequent come next year.

So I am now 27 weeks and am now starting to feel pregnant thanks to my stubby torso that doesn't allow for a lot of baby.  I have been able to feel my ribs expanding which is not the best feeling in the world.  Just a tad bit painful. And he has started punching me up under the ribs which is also slightly painful.  So I just shove him back.  But it is so worth it when I think about who it is that is spreading my ribs apart deleting what little waist I did have and punching my liver.  I am so thankful to God and feel blessed to be punched in the liver.

26 weeks

I have been so horrible about taking belly pictures.  I guess it makes it more dramatic when you can see more growth!  That's my excuse for now.  Here is my 26 week picture! Just 14 more to go.

Yamboree and Cookie!!!

This past week was pretty exciting!  Mom came to visit East Texas.  We always have so much fun when she comes.  We were especially excited to get to take her to the Yamboree in Gilmer, TX.  Let me tell you, her mind was blown.

Right before the parade.  She was so excited she could hardly stand it!

Sweet little face!

Caden enjoyed the parade from the comfort of Uncle Ty Ty's lap.

The beautiful Queen Yam.  Kristen was very excited.

Little boy's first parade.  I'm sure he heard it!

Caden loves his Cookie, or Tootie as he says

Who says pregnant women can't wear horizontal stripes!

The pregnancy is still going well!  I had my monthly checkup yesterday with my new OB and everything looks and sounds good. It was fun for Mom to get to go and hear his heart beat.  Besides beginning to grunt when I bend over or get out of a car and my belly button popping out, I've been feeling great!  He has definitely been active lately.  He is doing somersaults and practicing karate all day long.  It is so exciting to be able to feel him moving all the time.

We had a great week with Mom and are looking forward to our weekend with Ty's parents, Tim and Linda!

3 wonderful years!

So, Wednesday was our 3 year anniversary! Except both of us pretty much forgot.  Ty gets the credit of remembering first.  He called me at home Wednesday morning and I wondered what the honor of a call so early in the day was for! When he said Happy Anniversary I felt pretty awful until he told me that he had forgotten too and was writing a letter that was dated September 23.  But then he couldn't remember if our wedding date was the 23rd or the 29th.  So he googled, he GOOGLED our wedding date! haha  So we both had a pretty good laugh about how pitiful we are.  It ended up being a wonderful anniversary and I am so blessed to have been married to Ty for 3 years!  Year 4 should definitely be exciting!

Just look at him.  How could I not know he was the one?

First ever Big Smiths ribs.  I don't think I ever got the ribs again after that. Shoutout to Giggles.

I couldn't put any wedding pictures b/c all the file sizes were too big and I am computer illiterate.
We had a wonderful honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Saunders and Tim and Linda!  They weren't there of course but they helped get us there!

Arizona!

San Diego

I've been introduced to the Seat family holidays!

Ty has been introduced to the Church family Christmases.  Yeah Kobes!

And the Saunders family Thanksgiving.

We've had many adventures at Camp Deer Run

And we will be having many adventures this next year, I'm sure!

As for the pregancy, I am 22 weeks as of yesterday!  Belly pictures to come tomorrow.

My preparation for kids

I have to say, Ty and I have the cutest nieces and nephews. They are so cute, they are probably what pushed me over the edge of being ready to have our own kids. For Labor Day, we were lucky enough to get to spend 5 days in Dallas with Ty's family (Thanks Tim and Linda!). It is always so much fun to see all the new things the triplets have learned since the last time we saw them. They are just so cute!

Ty and Marlee

Ty and Beau (I don't know where our picture of Lilly is!)

Enjoy the video of cute little Marlee, Beau, and Lilly (in order of appearance)

We are also so lucky to have Kristen, Adam, and sweet little Caden in Longview, FINALLY! It has been fun to get to see Caden a lot more often. Kristen needed to run somewhere the other day so she dropped Caden off for a bit. He is a busy busy boy and we had lots of fun!
The first thing he always wants to do is ride on the broken tractor in the backyard.

Next, we played some Lincoln Logs and he built a killer cabin.

After the Lincoln Logs, we were a little bit thirsty, so we got some wholesome Dr. Pepper.

After a quick, refreshing drink of Dr. Pepper, it was time to go outside again to climb some trees.
And then it was back to the tractor. He couldn't quite figure out how to put the key back in.

Of course when you go outside, it is important to take your shoes off when you come back inside.

We ended our afternoon with come great music from the mix master!

We are so blessed to have such sweet neices and nephews! It is definitely helping us prepare.

20 week checkup

We had our 20 week checkup with the Doctor Wednesday and then with the perinatologist yesterday. We are going to a specialist because we found out a few months ago that Ty and I are both carriers of cystic fibrosis. This means that any child we have has a 25% chance of having it. We are asking for prayers that this little boy will be healthy and CF free! We are trying our best to trust in God no matter what happens. Today we got a detailed ultrasound and the doctor said that everything looks good so far. They can sometimes tell from ultrasound if the baby has it, but they can't rule it out. So it was really good news to hear that so far everything looks great! The doctor said he thinks he will look like Ty. Don't know how I'd feel about being told I resemble a skeletor. But I do think it would be cute if he looked like Ty, which means he would probably look like a boy Lilly! And that would be fine with me.

Ok, it has taken me forever to figure out how to post this sonogram. The file was too big, so I had to record it on my camera in a smaller file size to post it on here. Surely there is a better way. Anyways, the video is about 5 minutes long and a lot of it is hard to tell what it is. But I just think it is so fascinating to see the little guy moving.

Baby Ford

If you haven't yet heard, Ty and I are going to be having a little boy in January! January 28 to be exact (except not so exact). Since I don't have a picture of him yet, we will just go with the monkey for now. I guess we do have a picture from the sonograms, but the monkey probably looks more like a little boy than the sonograms. For those of you who can decipher sonograms, here are our latest. This one is of his whole little 16 week body.

His sweet little profile. (Forgive me for the sloppy post. I'm still learning.)

Here is the shot that told us that little boy is a boy and definitely not shy!
I am about 19 weeks now and in the last week or so, the belly seems to be getting a little tighter and bigger. It is fun to look pregnant rather than like I have been eating a little too much lately!
We go for another checkup next week and will get our 20 week sonogram pictures and video!
